If you are given a chance to live in a cartoon world what would you choose?
Being born in the mid 80’s my childhood was dominated with the amazing shows in the 90’s Cartoon Network and I enjoyed every bit of it. In fact it was always a dream for me to relive those moments using a time machine, as they were truly cherished experiences which today’s kids would never get.

My kid’s cartoon world is Peppa Pig, Masha & the bear, Paw Patrol and the likes. But I feel it’s nothing when compared to the series that I enjoyed in my growing up years like Scooby Doo, Captain Planet, Jhonny Quest, Mask, Jetsons, Flintstones, Adams Family, Tom & Jerry (definitely the old version), Dexter’s Laboratory, Timeless Tales and the list goes on. I know a lot of 80’s and 90’s kids would vibe well with me here. (Mentally say I Know! Right?)
So let me get back to the topic in hand. If anybody ever poses a fictional what if situation to me, I would definitely say either time travel or go live in any of the above mentioned Cartoon World. Today I choose Captain Planet and the Planeteers.
The series made such an impact on me that I genuinely feel I have become an eco-activist. My concerns for the growing climatic change in the world have made me conscious and a conservationist, preservationist, ecologist and a green nature-lover!
So before I go on, let me tell the ones who don’t know what Captain Planet is all about. Captain Planet is an environmental superhero who gets to save our planet Earth along with his team of Planeteers who pose as the natural elements like Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and an added element Heart. I am proud to say that I witnessed these series which were not merely entertaining but it was edutainment (Education + Entertainment).
This show was so profound and fore thought that we were schooled how dangerous our planet Earth could be if we fail to care and nurture it. It so clearly explains what the threats are, how we can prevent it and prepares for a futuristic green world.
On an entirely different note, I can sing the opening theme song of the series perfectly, even if you wake me in the middle of the night. I just love it so much.
Moreover in today’s chaotic world, a superhero like him is definitely needed to stop the threats owing to the climatic changes. In this fictional world I would witness a beautiful planet which we can make it possible to live in and try to recreate the same in reality. I would wish to urge people to choose to be a tree hugger, a green reformer rather than a contaminator or a polluter.

The reality is more scary with all that has happened in 2020 and an escape to this cartoon world, (though we could make it a possible reality) is far more calming and the thought in itself rejuvenates my mind and my thinking process. It’s like taking an expensive vacation to a nature abode.
I live by the philosophy that anything is okay if it calms me and keeps me in good spirits. This escape to the cartoon world, sure gives positivity and a path to attain peace.
Like Captain Planet says “The Power is Yours!” Let us create a better world for our future generation and not a plan to move to Mars!
